Further Details

Two large and heavy volumes, approximately 12″ high, red cloth-covered boards, gilt decoration and titles. Volume 1: From Prehistoric Times to the Act of Union. With fold-out maps, including a Dialect Map of Carmarthenshire and maps of Megalithic, Bronze Age and Iron Age sites and finds, as well as many illustrations within the run of the text. 374 pages (including appendices) plus fold-out map at end. Volume 2: From the Act of Union (1536) to 1900; also with fold out maps and well-illustrated. 549 pages plus fold-out map at end. Condition: Boards worn, rubbed, bumped and faded, although sound. Prelims foxed (especially front free end paper) but otherwise generally internally clean, with just a little occasional spotting to margins. The maps are all in good condition, although the edges of some are rolled from careless re-folding into the book.
