Comprising volume ID1211 and ID1211A. Described as ‘For Official Use Only’. The text volume (422 pages including Index) is in original blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine and the Atlas (maps numbered 1 to 20) in grey paper-covered boards, blue cloth spine strip and corners. The first map (‘Relief Panorama’) is unnumbered and is a reproduction of a hand-drawn perspective relief drawing, while the remaining maps are 1:1,000,000 coloured maps (Rainfall, Minerals, Railways etc). The text volume has pencil notes to verso of front free end paper and next blank page listing the Handbooks published in this series, with what I think must be their prices at publication. Ex-Air Ministry Library, with their cancelled stamp to front free end paper. The Atlas volume is undated. Condition: Text volume: boards soiled, rubbed and faded, some fraying to joints near top of spine, age tanning to pages. Atlas: boards soiled and rubbed, with rubbing especially at edges; binding strained across end papers but otherwise sound. Maps clean and bright.
