Further Details
Title page indicates that the volume is (or rather, was) confidential. Published by orders of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty. Blue-grey boards, half leather, gilt imprint “Electricity & Torpedoes” “Commander.J.A.Fisher.R.N.” around a gilt stamped decoration. 293 pages with 32 illustrations. A fascinating volume by the man who later became Admiral of the Fleet and responsible for a vigorous programme of reforms to the British Navy. Rare. Condition: Leather very badly rubbed, coming detached from rear board. Hinge strained across front end papers. Binding otherwise firm, with clean, bright pages. There are significant pencil notes to margins and blank pages, clearly by someone using the book as a student, and thus adding to the interest of the book rather than detracting from it.
