Ex-library (naturally!), of the Library Association, London. Red half-leather on red cloth-covered boards, marbled end papers, top edges gilt, 1284 pages, quarto (just over 10″ in height). An interesting copy, having a label to verso of front free end paper describing it as having been “Presented by Birmingham Free Libraries for Exhibition at Chicago 1893, Date January 1893”. Thus this copy was itself an exhibit at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893. Condition: Leather very worn, boards knocked and rubbed, front free end paper a little loose, binding otherwise firm, pages unmarked.
