Two volumes. “Integris J. Lipsii, Rhenani, Ursini, Mureti, Pichenae, Merceri, Gruteri, Acidalii, Grotii, Freinshemii, & selectis aliorum commentariis illustrata. Joh. Fred. Gronovius recensuit, & suas notas passim adjecit. Accedunt Jacobi Gronovii excerpta ex variis lectionibus MS. Oxoniensis”. Engraving as title page followed by title page with vignette in Volume 1, vignette to title page of Volume 2. There is a substantial index at the end of Volume 2, and colophon “LVGD. BATAV. Apud Viduam & Haeredes JOHAN. ELSEVIERII, Academ.Typograph.. 1672.” Binding is old vellum. Rear free end paper is torn at corner. Rear paste down has the following pencil note (not recent): ‘Elzevir Variorum 1672. “A good copy of this Edition of 1672, which is printed by the Elzevir, is worth £2:12:6”. Dibdin’s Introduction, Vol 2 p. 453.’. Condition: Vellum grubby but sound. Hinge strained at frontispiece (photos available- please ask), otherwise binding firm and very tight. Some grubbiness to page margins.
