Some early pages missing, and supplied as photocopies: these are pages numbered 7-10 as well as two unnumbered pages consisting of an index map to the 10 miles to an inch survey maps of Great Britain, and an index map for the 4 miles to one inch survey maps of England and Wales. Grey-green cloth-covered boards, black titles to front board. Contents text pages 1-6, photocopies of missing pages, then unnumbered index pages (Scotland and Ireland), then pages 11-186 text, then 4 unnumbered pages, specimen maps and plans, then 100 numbered pages of index maps to 6 inch Maps and Plans of England and Wales, the one page comprising an index map to the 25 inch maps of Tyneside (“Partly revised and partly re-surveyed 1894-95”). Index to OS 1:25,000 series, 1967, left laid in. Condition: Boards rubbed, soiled and worn, and with ownership stamp (Government office, I think, but very faded). Age-tanning and soiling to earlier pages, some of which are reinforced with translucent tape. Text block somewhat dog-eared/bumped. Index maps (other than the one described above) clean and in good condition.
