Translated from the French by Peter Green; first edition in English. The book was the subject of a film by Robert Bresson (Un Homme s’est Echappé). It is André Devigny’s account of his escape from Montluc fortress when imprisoned there as an officer in the French underground army. Condition: Dust jacket price-clipped, and with some soiling to rear; the book has some dust spotting to the top, external edges of the text block and bumping to one corner of the front board, but is otherwise clean, firm and bright.
