The works of Louise Labe (Lovize Labe in her own language of Lionnaise), published in an edition financed by “les gens de lettres de Lyon… qui ont voulu rendre un nouvel hommage a la memoire d’une femme justement celebre”. It includes an imaginary dialogue between Louise Labe and Sappho by M. Dumas, notes on her life by M. Cohard and M. Breghot, notes on the text and a glossary which seems not to have been reproduced in later editions. Rather dull brown boards,- a serviceable binding of an early and rare edition. Condition: Small tears to early pages, in some cases repaired. Bookplate with name scratched out to front free end paper. Considerable foxing to early and later pages. Overall clean and sound. Higher resolution photos (and additional photos) available on request.
