Published by subscription, with list of subscribers to the rear. Blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to front board, 68 pages. Coloured frontispiece from a painting (Dartford, from Martyrs’ memorial) and many other black and white illustrations from photographs, drawings etc. Discusses the problems facing the town, in common with so many after the 1939-1945 war, of rebuilding and development. Condition: Boards soiled towards edges and a little worn at extremities, spine sunned. Internally clean and bright. Imperfections in the paper and printing are, I believe, as published rather than the result of later damage. Previous seller’s/owner’s information in pencil to front free end paper.
