Green cloth-covered boards, gilt decoration and titles to front board, gilt titles to spine. Pagination -xi, then 1-378, then one leaf of publisher’s advertisements. With some restoration, as there are new end papers, although no sign of rebacking. There are two coloured maps by Bartholomew laid in, 25 cm by 37 cm- ‘Orographical Map of Farther India’ and ‘Political Map of Farther India’. The brightness of the paper suggests these are modern copies, possibly high quality coloured photocopies. Condition: Spine faded, board rubbed and bumped, restoration as detailed above and with translucent reinforcement to two pages (List of Illustrations) and to half title. Illustrations all present as called for, maps laid in as detailed above, pages bright, binding sound.
