Complied under the auspices of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Translated and introduced by J.O.P. Bland. Includes several facsimiles of letters etc. Condition: Library label to front board (Day’s Library Limited, London) but no other library marks. Boards rubbed, soiled and bumped, with spine faded. Front free end paper very age-darkened, and hinge strained at paste down/front free end paper. Therwise internally clean and sound, with bright pages. Previous owner’s bookplate to paste down (a rather fierce owl).
