Further Details

A collection of short pieces, most of which seem to have been written during the 1939-1945 war, arranged into: Satirical Verses, Short Articles on Several Topics, Serious Verses, and Polish Fragments. Many of the first two are on the trials and tribulations of life on the Home Front. Illustrated throughout with sketches. Signed by author, with a gift inscription to Horatio J Powys. A newspaper cutting of what seems to be a letter from the same mr Powys (on ‘The Ghost Dog’) has been pasted to the front free end paper. Mottled cream-brown paper-covered boards, illustration pasted to front board, 43 pages. Just grazes into ‘octavo’ in size class (7.5 inches high). Undated; inscription is dated 1950. Condition: Spine strip worn and pulling away in places, pages age-tanned, otherwise a sound, unmarked copy.
