This second edition, complete in one volume, was prepared as part of the Chambers Pictorial History of England, having initially been published in three volumes as a stand-alone work. This edition (which comprises Volume 7 of the Pictorial History of England) is revised and extended from the original, first edition. Half leather on marbled boards, with marbled end papers and marbled page edges. The many illustrations are mostly portraits of politicians. There is a double page map of Europe bound in opposite title page. Condition: Although there is wear to the leather at one corner, rubbing along the hinge and some rubbing to the marbled paper of the rear board, this is overall a very handsome copy. Internally very good indeed.
