Third printing of first English edition. Translated from the Polish by Krystyna Cenkalska. Red cloth-covered boards, blue titles to spine, 239 pages. Krstyna Zywulska (Sonia Landau) was a Jewish woman who escaped from the Warsaw ghetto and lived for some time in Warsaw helping Jews in hiding. This is an autobiographical account of the time from her arrest in 1943, through transport to Auschwitz, survival, and final escape from one of the forced-march transports from Auschwtz towards the end of the war. Condition: Boards a little tired and bumped, some spotting to the fore edges of the text block, internally clean and sound.
