Further Details

Brown paper-covered boards, gilt titles to front board, three hundred and twelve pages, many illustrations from line drawings and photographs. As the Foreword from the founder and chairman points out, less than forty years before this publication, tailoring was a “sweated” industry. This book puts on record the steps that Burtons took to improve matters and look after their workers. Condition: A clean, firm copy, with a little rubbing to the boards and the binding strained here and there. One page has traces of insect attack.
