“. No author stated, but usually credited to Vincent Lombard de Langres (1765-1830). Printed/published by Garnery and P. Catineau et Rat. Full leather, gilt decoration, spine label almost completely lost, marbled end papers, 431 pages. Date of publication given as “An VIII de la République”, which dated from 23rd September 1799. As the events described took place in November of that year, a modern rendering of the publication date as 1800 seems reasonable. Condition: Faint traces of damp damage to both sets of end papers and earliest and last few pages, otherwise pages clean and bright. Binding sound. Boards with some wear and rubbing, leather worn at joints but boards still soundly attached. A few pages remain unopened, and one or two have been carelessly opened resulting in uneven page edges.
