Crimson boards, stamped motif to front, gilt titles. A first rate technical work, with many line diagrams within run of text and fold-out diagrams (including five coloured) present and in good condition; coloured frontispiece to Volume II. Condition: Coloured frontispiece to Volume I missing. Boards faded and somewhat worn and bumped; hinge strained across front end papers but otherwise binding sound and firm. Some foxing, but overall internally clean and bright. A little pencil annotation by a previous owner.
