Reprinting of manual first published in 1912- “Reprinted, with additions, 1914”. Limp maroon coloured cloth, 102 pages, many illustrative fold-out maps, diagrams etc. Small octavo in size (179 mm high). Stamps of two previous owners, viz 27th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Orderly Room 15 Feb 1917, N.C.O’S. School of Instruction 193rd Infantry Brigade (no date). Condition: Considerable wear to covers, foxing to first few pages and here and there elsewhere, occasionally substantial. First few pages dog-eared, binding strained in places, and overall somewhat slack. There is a small area of damage starting at page 33 and continuing to the plate at p 41-42 (but no loss). Overall a shabby, much-used copy.
