North and South sheets (linen-backed maps) bound in one volume, together with the text introductions etc, with the original card front covers; probably privately bound. The rear covers of each booklet have been removed, almost certainly at the time of binding, to facilitate the opening up of the map that follow. Bookplate of Dennis H N Sellers to front paste down. Bound in dark blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine and front board, red end papers. The two sheets (1:625,000) attempt to represent the character and geographic distribution of the monastic houses in Great Britain fron the Norman conquest until the Dissolution. Map compiled by R Neville Hadcock. Condition: Old price in pencil to front cover of North Sheet booklet, a little soiling to each front cover, otherwise excellent inside and out.
