Signed “W M Broomhall”; a W M Brooomhall, of the Royal Engineers, is mentioned in accounts of escape attempts from Colditz. Collaborating author Charles M. Swaart; Foreword by Douglas Bader. This is the story of “Mission Sparrow”, in which three men were parachuted into Hungary in 1944 to accept the surrender of the Hungarian government to the USA before the Germans could invade. Condition: The book is clean and sound, with pages bright; the only marking is the signature to the front free end paper and pencilled note about this, with an old price also in pencil. The dustjacket is soiled and worn, but with no loss.
