Further Details

Ownership inscription of “L R Tosswill, H Q, Fourth Army” to front free end paper and stamp of Wellcome Institute Library to verso of title page. The name L R Tosswill is unusual enough that it seems likely that this is the LR Tosswill who is included in the list published in the BMJ of March 7th 1903 as of those recently admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons and also, plausibly, as being included in the 1902 England Rugby Union team in the Home Nations Championship. He appears also in the programme listing for 2LO (the second radio station to broadcast regularly in Britain) delivering a talk on the 1928-29 Rugger Season, on Wednesday 3rd April 1929. To get back to the book: green cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine and front board, 110 pages plus one leaf of publisher’s advertisement. Condition: Boards a little bumped and rubbed, internally clean and unmarked (apart from ownership details described above). Small, rubbed and indecipherable bookseller’s label to front paste down.
