Presumed first edition, publication inferred at c 1929; undated, but references in the text give the date of composition as 1928. Illustrated by Frank Mason and Freda Lingstrom, in 18 full page woodcuts. Orange cloth-covered boards, with paper labels to front board and spine. An exploration of the East Coast railway lines, published with the co-operation of the LNER. Condition: Boards rubbed and worn at joints and corners, labels soiled, that to the spine chipped. Severe foxing to the front and rear free end papers, otherwise internally clean and bright.
