Half leather on grey cloth-covered boards, paginated title page etc to iv, then Report (v-vii), Minutes of Proceedings of the Committee (viii-xx), Minutes of Evidence (1-230), Appendix (231-234), Index (235-270). The main issue investigated by the Committee was whether or not the granting of permission to construct electrical systems should be subject to limitations in the use of earth return circuits, “or [limited] by any provision as to leakage, induction, or similar matters”- that is, Parliamentary Committees were starting to grapple with the technical issues raised by permitting the construction and use of electrical networks. Evidence heard included that on alternative systems for powering electric railways and from telephone companies on the implications for them from options being suggested for powering the electric railways. Condition: Front board detached, and leather is very scuffed indeed. Spine strip split and pulling away from text block. Ownership stamp of Ministry of Transport Library to front free end paper. Pages iii-vi detached and creased (but with no loss).
