Further Details

This volume comprises three volumes bound as one; its full title is: Report of the Departmental Committee Appointed to Enquire into the Dangers Attendant on the Use of Lead and the Danger or Injury to Health Arising from Dust and Other Causes in the Manufacture of Earthenware and China and in the processes incidental thereto, including the making of lithographic transfers. Volume 1: Report (paginated i-vii, then 1- 150). This is Command Paper 5219. Volume 2: Appendices (1-128). Cd. 5278. Volume 3: Minutes of Evidence (i-iv, then 1-590). This is an ex-library copy, bound in light brown cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine, library endpapers and with the original blue front covers to volumes 1 and 2 laid in (but not cover to volume 3). All have been trimmed to be slightly undersized, but with no loss of text. Condition: The boards are scuffed and the brown cloth covering the original blue cloth is chipped away at the extremities of the spine. Cloth is especially worn along the joints. There is a library shelf mark to spine and remnants of a library label to the front board. The reports themselves are clean, sound and unmarked.
