Signed by author to front free end paper. An account of the experiences of an officer in the Royal Fusiliers in the battle of France in 1940. It forms the first in a trilogy of narratives dealing with the author’s experiences during World War 2, although written and published after the second in the trilogy, “The Wild Geese are Flighting”. (We also have this for sale, as well as the last of the trilogy, “Fling our Banner to the Wind”). Dark green cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine (on black ground), 179 pages, many photographic illustrations, large folding map bound in to rear, pictorial dustjacket. Condition: Dust jacket with small tear to top edge, a little soiled, some general wear, price-clipped. Slight bumping to front board but book otherwise in excellent condition.
