First published in Germany in 1951 as “Der Fragebogen”; this is the first edition in English, translated by Constantine Fitzgibbon. The publishers describes the book as ‘a frank and thorough appraisal of his life and times by a highly intelligent Prussian nationalist of fifty, who, though he never joined the Nazis, did not actively oppose them’. Red cloth-covered boards, black and red dustjacket, 546 pages. Condition: Dustjacket chipped and worn at edges, foxed to verso, flaps with dust-soiled edges and rear flap foxed. The book is externally clean and sound, has foxing to end papers, some dust-soiling to fore-edges but is otherwise internally clean and bright.
