With a Preface by the Rev. F. Shelley Cuyler, illuminations designed and chromo-lithographs by W.R. Tymms. Each of the 38 pages (of a very heavyweight paper) is illustrated and illuminated; pages associating a flower or plant with a festival of the Church are interspersed with illuminated extracts of Scripture and poetry or poetic prose. Each page protected by two tissue guards. Rebacked, using original backstrip; the worn state of the casing suggests that the work was done some time ago. All edges gilt. Undated, but COPAC gives 1862. Gift inscription on a free end paper is dated 1882. Condition: The boards are very worn and faded, but the pages are clean and bright, and undamaged. Foxing only to what I assume are new end papers (that is, newer than the book).
