Green boards with blue titles. Covers the period from the early 14th century to 1800 in approximately half- or quarter-century chunks, one chunk to a chapter. Illustrated with sketches. This book covers not only dress of the well-to-do, but also that of ordinary people. There is a bibliography. Condition: The boards are a little grubby and knocked, but the book is internally clean and sound. There is a gift inscription to the front free end paper. There is some foxing to early and late external page edges.
