The author explains “the aim of the present small treatise is to elucidate the difficult sections of the act” apologising that “the difficulty of producing such a treatise is materially increased by the extremely unmethodical way in which this act has been drawn”. Blind-stamped cloth-covered boards, black titles to front board and spine, 115 pages +10 pages of publishers’ catalogue and one leaf of advertisements. Condition: Boards faded and bumped, spine soiled and chipped, especially at the extremities where there is some loss. Previous owner’s name in blue pencil to front free end paper, pencil annotation here and there. Binding insecure; the gathering comprising pages 49 to 64 has pulled away from the rest of the text block, exposing the gutter. Overall, a just-about good copy.
