Further Details

With five maps, including two folding (of which one is frontispiece). 555 pages plus two leaves of publisher’s advertisements. Maroon cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine. Condition: The fold-out frontispiece map (An Orographical Map of Afghanistan and Baluchistan) has foxing to the verso and a little spotting to the recto, but is otherwise bright and sound. There is some age-tanning to the end papers and some darkening to the margins of the page opposite the first map. All other maps clean and bright. The uncut (ie untrimmed) page edges are inevitably soiled. Boards bumped and worn at joints and extremities; rear board slightly warped.
