In two volumes- ‘A New Edition’. Tree calf, gilt edging, gilt decoration and titles to spine. Engraved title page, 4 engraved portraits to Volume 1, 6 to Volume 2. Roughly 5.75″ by 3.5″ Condition: Leather worn, front and rear free end papers of Volume 1 missing, with crude tape repair (relatively modern) across hinge of title page and paste down. Front board of Volume 2 detached. Previous owner’s name, dated 1845, to verso of front free end paper; initials in same hand to title page of Volume 1.
