Dark red cloth covered boards, decorative maps to endpapers, many illustrations from photographs, 378 pages. After an introductory chapter on the origin and nature of ports, the book devotes a chapter to each of the then major ports of England and Scotland, with three chapters on the smaller English ports, two chapters on ports of Wales, five on those of Scotland and to on Northern Ireland. There is a final chapter on the coordination of ports and transport. Condition: Bumped at the corners and with a little blotching us. Internally, the book is clean and bright, and the binding firm.
