First published in 1857 and reprinted in 1920 with the addition of a Preface and some views of the Works that replaced the original buildings, but omitting the appendices containing details of patents. Dark blue cloth-covered boards, brown titles to spine and front board, several plates of illustrations (line drawings of articles made from india-rubber), portrait frontispiece, 72 pages. Condition: Boards and spine strip very rubbed and worn, binding pulled at p 64, traces of adhesive tape across end papers, ownership stamp to front free end paper. Pages age-darkened but clean and unmarked.
