Published under the auspices of the 7th International Congress of Applied Chemistry by its Explosives Section. Blue cloth-covered bevelled boards, gilt decoration and titles, 418 pages, illustrated (chiefly with portraits of relevant eminent people). Much related material left laid in, mostly newspaper cuttings etc, but also a letter from the Cotton Powder Co Ltd, Faversham, dated Jan 10th 1919, to a Gunner Lawrence, address 152 Heavy Battery, BEF France, regretting that they cannot offer him employment until he has obtained his discharge from the Army. There is also a booklet of Rules and Regulations for the same company’s works, dated 1912 and with the same Mr Lawrence’s name on them. One small item pasted in to front free end paper. Condition: Boards rubbed, joint at front free end paper worn but holding. A clean, sound copy.
