This book comprises two works: a biography of Thomas Chaplin, slave master, cotton planter and proprietor of the Tombee Plantation, and Chaplin’s personal journal, kept between 1845 and 1858, and edited by him after the war. Large octavo/quarto borderline in size. Condition: Covers rather knocked, with some creasing to the rear cover; internally clean and unmarked, with binding firm. A clean, sound reading copy.
