Signed by the author with a gift inscription: “To David, who led me into the world of computers and how to use the word processor for the production of this book. With every good wish, Jim Rogers”. Black dustjacket, black cloth-covered boards, gilt titles to spine, illustrations from photographs as well as diagrams, line drawings etc (both full page and in run of text), 217 pages. The author was transferred to Colditz after a nearly-successful tunnelling escape from another POW camp. As well as the title page signed dedication, there is the photocopy of a newspaper cutting left laid in, which has also been signed by the author (“Every good wish to you from Jim Rogers. For David Du Mee”) and the front paste down has another signed newspaper cutting, also to David Du Mee, neatly pasted over it. Condition: Small nick to the top corner of the unclipped dust jacket (on the front), some more general wear to the back section of the dust jacket, with edge wear, and evidence of removed price sticker to the front flap. A little light wear to the boards.
