The author describes it as ‘simply an account of the Russian commanders and soldiers and the impression they made on me during the twenty-seven years I resided in various parts of the empire’. Condition: Covers (which are very soiled) pulling away from the text block, and there have been failed attempts to reattach. Front free end paper very foxed, pages otherwise clean binding of text block pulling in a few places.
